Ismet Gökmen opened the Deniz Cafe way back in 1984 and today it is still in operation as a cafe - restaurant even through the surrounding harbour and town are much changed. In 2000 the premises were renovated and the restaurant was added. The business is still operated by the Gökmen family.

Deniz Cafe-Restaurant is located on the harbour side and if you come from Tourist Information Bureau continue on past the Mermaid statue another 150 metres along the quay - link to map showing location.

The Deniz Cafe-Restaurant is very well known and popular among the locals and tourists alike. As the old saying goes: "where there lots of locals, there is also good food". This saying is really true in this case. Deniz Cafe-Restaurant's menu is wide and varied with Turkish and international dishes. There is lots of choice: meats, steaks and also many sea foods. After a tasty well prepared meal there is nothing nicer then a tasty sweet dessert. The selection of the dessert is wide and varied. After your meal,  coffee, tea or fruits are on the house. There is no service charge. Price and quality meets here and you will find that your meal will be well worth the price.

At the Deniz Cafe they have very wide selection of different coffees: Expresso, Cappuccino, Italian, filter, Nescafe and of course Turkish coffee. Taste the traditional Turkish coffee: sweet, medium or plain. If you don't like coffee, try the traditional Turkish cay and drink it from small Turkish glasses.

The summer days and evening can be enjoyed outside on the terrace with the atmosphere of the harbour watching the passing parade and admiring the Turkish gulets mooring at the quay.

During the winter months you can enjoy pleasant evenings at Deniz as it covers two floors. In the cold winter evening this is a good place to enjoy a good meal next to the fire place in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Deniz Cafe-Restaurant is nice place to stop by for a cup of coffee or for a proper meal without hurry enjoying the food and service.
